Xesta is a java to xml binding tool. Xesta balances the approach between object and document side of the binding, trying to rely on tooling and practices aligned with each of the sides.
Xesta main characteristics are:
- Java annotations based.
- Modern Xpath for describing document parts, enabling ascending or descending paths and condition filtering. The Xml and Java objects structure is not expected to be isomorphic.
- Document is preserved, accessed and optionally updated. This is not an object serialization tool.
- The provided repository abstraction eases document access.
Xesta was presented at XML Prague in 2026, originally named as "Fento".
